After more than an hour of rain, Blackpink’s Jennie stepped out of her car and made her way to the Jacquemus catwalk. Several hours later, she was still hanging around, dancing with Simon Porte Jacquemus and taking selfies by the shoreline. SZA weathered the rain too, posing in a gingham set, as did Jhené Aiko, Bretman Rock, and Victor Cruz.
But for all the stars in Jacquemus’s front row, the real heroes of the designer’s Hawaiian debut were the models, all locally cast. For some, it was their first runway show—and they were ready to celebrate when the sun went down and the volume went up at the Jacquemus after-party on the beach.
